Install ZAK Sound plugins on Linux

A step-by-step guide for installing ZAK Sound plugins on Linux.

Linux availability: Linux builds are rolling out gradually. Check the product page to see whether the plugin you own ships a Linux build — if it does, you'll find it on your account page.

Looking for Raizes instruments? The Raizes Player is available for Linux, and all Raizes instruments install from inside it.
  1. 1

Extract and run the installer script

Extract the .tar.gz file you downloaded from your account page. Inside, you'll find a script named Install <Plugin Name>.sh. Double-click it and choose Run in terminal, or run it from a terminal:

    chmod +x "Install <Plugin Name>.sh"
    ./"Install <Plugin Name>.sh"

This installs the VST3 plugin into the standard Linux VST3 location.

  2. 2

    Open the plugin and activate

Launch the plugin in your DAW. When prompted, enter the serial number from your account page.

No serial number? Some products don't require one — if there's no serial on your account page for this product, you can skip this step.

  3. 3

    Locate the samples folder

Move the Samples folder from the extracted archive to wherever you'd like to keep it. Then, when the plugin asks, point it to that folder.

Locate samples folder dialog on Linux

Skip this step for: Particles, Arctic Spaces, Deep Waters, Skyridge. These products don't ship with a samples folder.

  4. 4

    Restart the plugin

Remove the plugin from your track and reload it. That's it — you're ready to play.
